Surface treatment of wood construction products
The building and construction industry makes extensive use of products that have undergone surface processing before being used. Examples include panels, stairs, doors, skirting boards, glass trims, window frames and kitchens.
These products are often used in new buildings and renovations. Reclaimed wood is used in addition to new materials. Traditionally, the construction industry has been characterised by its heavy use of wood and wood processing, such as white wood sanding, denibbing, distressing (aging), dedusting, and applying and spreading stain and oil.
Metal and plastic are alternatives to wood. Like wood, these materials undergo surface treatments prior to the application of lacquer
